Erukatham Puliyur (called Rajendrapatnam) is 15km from Vriddhachalam, the place of Neelakanta Yazhpanar, the musician - Nanyanar. He travelled along with Sambandar and accompanied Sambandar in Yazh as he sang thevarams. Panns (Ragam) for Tirumurai that are currently in vogue are set by Erukatham Puliyur Padini (litereally the singer of Erukatham Puliyur), a descendant of Yazhpanar.
